How to Increase Everything Else in Your Life without Giving Up More of You

Do you ever get to the end of a day and wish you had a few more hours to get more done? Many of us are so busy and we have to do a lot on the go…and sometimes, we even like to add more to our already overflowing plate! What if that is not wrong – but part of your brilliance? What if you could keep adding to your life, your business, and your revenue without compromising or giving yourself up? You could even increase what you are up to in your life and business, and have that make everything greater?

Multitasking

Do you enjoy doing lots of different things? Are you good at multitasking?

Multitasking is one of those things that many of us are good at, and yet many of us think is something that we should not do. When you judge multitasking as something that is wrong, or something that takes your attention away from other areas of your life, then it becomes a problem. What if the capacity to multitask was actually part of your brilliance? What if it is an incredible way to handle, deal with, and even soar in changing times?

Multitasking is the capacity to have your attention on a lot of different things at one time. When you are able to do this, you can get a lot of things done simultaneously. Perhaps having a lot of projects on the go, a lot of things in the hopper, and even multiple businesses, is actually just simply fun for you? Sometimes when we try to minimize our multitasking because we have decided that it’s wrong, we get bored! What if this way of functioning allows you to be more engaged, more efficient, and enjoy everything to a greater degree?

Getting busy

Have you ever noticed that when you are busy you get a lot more done? When you are busy, sometimes you don’t even have time to think! That’s not a bad thing! We tend to function at our greatest efficiency when we have a lot going on. Projects take less time, and we do not give ourselves the luxury of being slow with all of the things that we have to handle in our lives. When you have more on your plate, you simply get it done.

Now – what if this didn’t have to be stressful? What if you didn’t have to give yourself up, forego taking care of yourself or your family, lose sleep, etc., to have and create more?

Get help!

When you add new projects, a new job, new businesses, new clients, new children, or new commitments to your life – that is a great time to take stock of what you have available as a support system, and tweak, change, or add to it. You can’t do it all alone – especially if you are building a small empire with a family and a desire to take care of yourself as well! Invite people into your life and business to help you.

What can other people do for you and with you? What tasks and responsibilities do you have that do not have to be done by you? Hire people, enlist help, delegate, re-arrange responsibilities in your business and family, and you will find that you can keep adding to what you are creating without getting burned out. Pass on the tasks that no longer are fun for you, and that no longer serve you.

Make yourself useless

Make myself useless??!” Yes! What if you could set your life up so that you are actually not required to run the bulk of it? This includes your business and your household. Hire somebody to pick your children up from school, cook meals, fold the laundry, clean. Get a bookkeeper. Hire an assistant, get an intern. There are a million ways to delegate many of your responsibilities to others that don’t even end up costing you a fortune – because the more you turn over your responsibilities to a support system, the more, and the bigger, you can create. That includes more income, and more fun for you. What if you could really do mostly what you enjoy – and allow yourself to be supported in every other area?

Let go

If you are bringing other people into your life, home, family, and business, you are going to find that a lot of them can’t do what used to be your job as well as you. That’s ok. Let go! The amount of energy you spend trying to get it all perfect is a massive drain on what you can be creating elsewhere. Let go of the need for perfection, for control, and for everything to be done the way you want it to. Not much actually has to be perfect – we just sometimes think it does. Get over it, let it go, and enjoy the ride of having other people contributing to you while you grow your business, income, and life!

Prioritize

Where do you spend the bulk of your time? Wherever that is, is your priority. Does that match what you think your priorities are? If not, change it! When you have a lot going on, and more all the time, your priorities are going to change as your life changes and grows. Zoom out on your life, take a bird’s eye view, and get clear on what your priorities actually are. For instance, is your priority making sure your current clients are happy, or is it creating a dynamically successful business? If it’s the former, then you will get mired in the minutia of what you think everybody requires of you. If it’s the latter, you can focus your time, energy, and attention on what is going to create the business you are asking for – and not sweat the small stuff.

Receive

As you choose more, add more, and step up to creating more in your life and business, you truly cannot do it alone. Having others contribute to you, and letting go of the details, requires that you receive. People actually enjoy contributing to others, especially if it is appreciated, acknowledged, and if you are also there to make their lives greater in whatever way you can.

If you are nit-picky about how others can show up to support you, you will get in the way of receiving the gift somebody can be to you. If you are a perfectionist, not willing to let go, not able to delegate, or simply a control freak – nobody around you will be happy including you.

What if you could let go, enjoy the ride, and receive the gift that the people in your life are, and receive the adventure of creating something greater and adding to your life every day? When you relax and enjoy – every area of your life becomes greater as a result.
