Day 7: Become Your Healthiest Best by Making One Small Change

Today's Healthiest Best You Daily Tip/Resource/Check-In

Daily Tip

Today's tip is about making one small change.

One small change can change your well-being.

In helping others, one of the most successful ways to take action is to make one small change and hold that change consistently for at least a month. I generally say 60 days minimum, but it varies by person.

There's no time like the present to decide to become your healthiest best. Over these several posts of tips, resources and check-ins, what's resonating with you the most?

This is a wonderful time to collect your mindfulness tools as we head into the holiday eating season. This is a time where people tend to gain 10-20-30 pounds and then resolve to do something different in the next year.

I call this Self-Care September. I do an overall evaluation around this time of year and often decide to change one small thing and hold that change in action for at least a month or more. Sometimes the change becomes a permanent part of me.

What is one small change or adjustment you would like to make? Some examples that coordinate with our daily check-in below are:

-Walk a mile or exercise for 20 minutes

-Drink at least 8 - 8oz glasses of water per day (more for those who weigh more.)

-Eat differently. You can do this by eating smaller portions, eating less of a certain food, etc.. whatever you decide to do.

-Spend 30 minutes meditating.

-Add a cup of vegetables daily.

Where we may become overwhelmed and not end up as successful as we hoped, is when we try to change everything all at once and many changes. Try 1 or 2 and hold them successfully for at least 30 days before introducing your next change.
