Writer's pictureBest Ever You

Featuring You: Meet Ashu Khanna

Tell us about yourself. How did you get to be where you are today?

I am a wife, mom, friend, sister, daughter, life coach, thought leader…I play many roles and each one is centered around the mission to inspire others to realise that our true identity is pure consciousness and happiness is our core essence.

I was carefree and content child who trusted and loved everyone unconditionally. While this served me to build deep relationships, it also filled me with hurt, because I expected the world to be like me. It took many hard knocks to realise that my perceptions, pain and fears ruled my life. After seeking desperately for answers on how to be happy and childlike again, it was in 2006, that I awakened to the truth that our inner voice is the playbook to happiness. The experience of pure consciousness was so exhilarating that it inspired me to commit to live authentically. Over the last 18 years, my journey of transformation has been filled with many twists and turns. The constant has been my trust in my inner voice, that has helped me become resilient, agile and find real happiness.

What do you do to help others be their best?

To quote Gandhiji, I would say, Be the change you wish to see. Firstly, I am committed to doing my best everyday such that I can be a catalyst for transformation. Living authentically has facilitated me to work as a leadership coach, author, mentor, speaker and leader and guide others to reconnect with their inner self. Over the years, I have built a community of individuals who seek inner peace and happiness. Now, I am designing a digital masterclass on happiness to expand impact globally.

How do you help yourself be the best you can be?

The day I reconnected with my inner self and realized that it is the reservoir of possibilities, was a huge turning point in my life. From thereon, I have lived every moment with awareness to live in alignment with my values and inner voice. While this journey has not been the easiest, yet it’s been most empowering and worthwhile. I have invested hours studying ancient Indian scriptures, books on leadership, religions, autobiographies, watching inspirational movies and actively committing to my well being. Also, I thrive in nature, so I frequently go for nature retreats. Additionally, writing has been one of the most effective practices that helps me develop clarity and anchor within. I am very curious, so I enjoy challenging myself and engaging with people from different walks of life to expand my learning.

What are your real passions?

I am very fascinated by the magic of human transformation and am hugely inspired by its infiniteness. To unleash that infiniteness, I love to explore, experiment, challenge, learn new disciplines and find new ways of expand my expression and impact. I am constantly evolving through reading, writing, engaging with inspiring leaders.

What do you like to do in your personal life?

I find joy in simple moments like spending time with my family and friends, walking in nature and reading, adventure activities, watching movies, listening to music, playing with my dog. I enjoy cooking for my family, playing games together and travelling to new places.

What do you hope to accomplish in the future?

Happiness, love, peace is our true essence. Everyone seeks to be happy and everything that we do is with the endeavour to be happy. Fear of unknown is our highest obstacle. When we live with trust in the inner self, we can realise our truth and find happiness.

My vision is to see humanity smile, rather than live in fear. To achieve my vision, I would like to work collaboratively and collectively with other communities and leaders, to inspire the world to experience peace, love and happiness.

Additionally, I would like to inspire humanity to love Nature because Nature serves us constantly by nurturing and sustaining us. Moreover, nature is the most inspiring and reflective mirror in which we can see and expand ourselves.

What is a book or two that you recommend?

I highly recommend ‘The Bhagavad Gita’, which has guided me in understanding life’s true purpose and essence, ‘My Experiments with Truth’ by Mahatma Gandhi, ‘The Art of Happiness’ by His Holiness Dalai Lama. Another book, I recommend is ‘I Am Perfection’, one of my works, which delves into the transformative power of the mind of moving from victimhood to mastery.

Why do you do what you do?

We are interconnected and one at the core. We are designed to serve as a catalyst to each other’s transformation and growth. I have been blessed with the courage and wisdom to live true and be happy. Experiencing the power of self transformation makes my heart smile and deepens my trust in the magic of life.  The more we give and live a life of purpose, the more magical life is. So, to have a life of miracles, I have made it my mission to develop leaders who live authentically and happily.
