Tell us about yourself.
I am a mom of three daughters, married for over twenty years and author of seven books the most recent being Emotional Detox. I currently teach Psychology and yoga at a local college. I feel I get the best of both worlds teaching regularly on the brain and body. I also offer Emotional Detox support to private clients.
How did you get to be where you are today? Well, I have been invested in the field of Psychology for most of my life. Growing up my mother used to call me the "the little therapist." I got to be where I am today through persistent effort, a love for what I do and a family who supports me.
Have you ever been fired? No, well sort of, I was told I was no longer needed because my numbers were down.
What are your real passions? Writing for sure is my passion. I love it so much. If I am not writing then I am probably creating something else like an on line course, class. I am passionate about teaching and helping others.
If you won the lottery, what would you do? I would pay off everything, travel and teach. I would donate my services more, travel world wide teaching the benefits and skills of an Emotional Detox so other people could receive the blessings within their emotions how it heals and strengthens people, restores harmony and balance. I would help my children get on their feet, friends and family members in need.
What do you do to help others be their best? I empower them with skills and insight.
How do you help yourself be the best you can be? I move through Emotional Detox (C.L.E.A.N.S.E.) practice daily. I go to the gym, practice yoga, limit sugar. What I have found is when you allow yourself to experience your emotions regularly everything else kinds of falls into place through non-effort. I guess I don't feel like I "do" anything per say, I just "feel" if that makes any sense.
What do you like to do in your personal life? I spend time with my husband and children. Visit my parents.
What do you hope to accomplish in the future? For Emotional Detox to become a form of treatment for anxiety and depression to be recognized by the medical community and APA.
What is a book or two that you recommend? PERCOLATE
Please give us one or two shameless plugs. Shameless? Hum, well, I feel Emotional Detox is going to be one of the go to forms of treatment for anxiety and depression in the near future. Right now, I am in the process of developing studies so people can have the evidence they need. I know it works, but I am doing the work others (e.g. the medical community) needs to move in that direction.
What are some of your favorites? (books, websites, etc..) Spirituality and health magazine.
Why do you do what you do? I do what I do because it works! It is effective. It has changed my life and so many others. I feel it is what God wants me to do and be.
What do the words "Best Ever You" mean to you: Best Ever You, means going as I call it going "raw." Raw is a continual state of growth and expansion.
