We are proud to issue our new Best Ever You Gold Seal of Excellence to Yoga Design Lab!
We love their yoga mats, which are, in our opinion the best yoga mats you will ever own. We tested their mats back in 2017 and now in 2020, we are testing and comparing the travel mat to the combo mat to see the difference.
We ordered the Travel Mat Quartz (left) and the Combo Mat Quartz (right). We wanted to see the difference in the mats as far as quality and thickness.
The travel mat Quartz is a super lightweight and ultra foldable version of their Combo Mat designed to fold up and go! Use on it’s own or bring to class to cover over those oh-not-so-clean studio mats. Luxurious and absorbent sueded microfiber (made of recycled plastic bottles!) bonded to a natural tree rubber base gives you the sweaty grip of a towel and the cushion of a yoga mat. This is very thin, light and easy to carry around.
The combo mat was designed to be the ultimate yoga companion. Reduce slipping, injuries and you no longer need to bring a mat AND towel to class anymore. All-in-one product. Machine washable. Luxurious and absorbent sueded microfiber (made of recycled plastic bottles!) bonded to a natural tree rubber base gives you the sweaty grip of a towel and the cushion of a yoga mat. This is our personal favorite. It comes in a variety of colors and the strap makes it very easy to roll-up and carry. We first tested this mat in 2017 and that mat, which has been very used, is still in excellent condition.
Both mats are machine washable with the carrying strap included. Both mats are easy to clean.
ABOUT YOGA DESIGN LAB
Blending fashion-forward design elements with innovative functionality and bio renewable consciousness is key to the Yoga Design Lab approach.
Designed in Bali by Canadian surfer/yogi Chad Turner, who sold all his stuff and moved there to launch the idea in 2014. The young brand produces visually stunning, eco-friendly yoga products designed to inspire.
"I was seated in the back of a packed yoga class while on vacation in Ubud, Bali. Looking around, all I saw was a sea of unoriginal, massed produced, solid colored mats. My thinking was, there must be a way of creating a highly functional product that was also aesthetically beautiful. So the journey began. Long story short, I sold my stuff, packed up a couple bags and moved to Bali with the goal of creating a stunning line of yoga products that inspire more people to get excited about yoga.”
- Chad, YDL Founder
From insulated stainless steel water bottles, to yoga mats comprised of biodegradable natural tree rubber, to the water based inks used in the printed designs, we can all make a difference with the products we buy.
